Graveside services for Evelyn “Tex” Satterwhite, 68, of Higgins, TX will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Higgins Cemetery with Rev. Donald Hill, officiating and Gordon Lawson, assisting. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX.

Tex passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012.

Tex was born September 23, 1943 in Boston, MA to the late Mr. Elbie C. Carr and Mrs. Evelyn (McKee) Carr. She attended elementary through high school in Canadian. She attended beauty school in 1968. She married Donald Dean Satterwhite on March 29, 1963 in Colorado Springs, CO. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2011. Tex and Don made their home south east of Higgins, in Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, and loved crocheting, quilting, and painting. She was a member of the Busy Bee Quilting Club, Arnett Band Boosters and Higgins Church of Christ. She was preceded by her son, Michael Satterwhite and her brother, Dale Carr.

She is survived by her daughter of the home, Donna Stubblefield and husband Randy of Pampa, TX; her brother, Robert Carr and wife Julie of Holdenville, OK; her sisters, Norene Rux and husband Richard of Archer City, TX; Carol Ann Wilson and husband George of Canadian, TX; her granddaughter, Mandy Cross of Pampa, TX; two step grandkids, Ty Stubblefield of Pampa, TX; Shelly Bragg of McKinney, TX; four step great-grandchildren, Cassie, Korie and Brynna Stubblefield all of Pampa, TX and Mackenzy Brag of McKinney, TX.

The family suggests memorials be made to Westview Boys Home, 120 W Broadway St., Hollis, OK 73550 or Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
