Services for Mr. Matt Waller, 47, of Memphis, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Downey, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX.

Matt passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 in Amarillo, TX.

Matt was born June 27, 1964 in Memphis to Mr. Charles Waller and Mrs. Violet (Pierce) Waller. He was a 1982 graduate of Memphis High School. He also graduated from the Fire Academy at Amarillo College. He married Dana Bloxom on May 20, 1995 at the Travis Baptist Church in Memphis, TX. Matt has worked for the Memphis Fire Department for 29 years and has been the Fire Marshal for the City of Memphis the last 15 years. Matt enjoyed helping with the Memphis Little League, Pee Wee Football and the Memphis Relay for Life. He was also a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church. Matt taught the youth Sunday school class and also took care of the sound on Sunday’s. He was also very involved in the First Baptist Mission work in El Paso, TX .

He is survived by his wife; Dana Waller of Memphis, TX; his son, Cameron Waller of Memphis, TX; his parents, Charles and Violet Waller of Amarillo, TX; his sister, Shelly Beam and husband Brent of Amarillo, TX; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Debbie Bloxom of Memphis, TX; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Keely Ramsey and husband Hollis of Duncan, OK; his grandmother-in-law, Joyce Bloxom of Memphis, TX; 6 nephews, Greg and Kiefer Waller of Amarillo, TX; Brittan and Conner Beam of Waco, TX; Cody and Caleb Ramsey of Duncan, OK and one niece, Mikayla Ramsey of Duncan, OK

The family suggest memorials be made to First Baptist Church Youth, Mission Trip Fund, P.O. Box 726, Memphis, TX 79245 or the Memphis Fire Department, 721 Robertson, Memphis, TX 79245.
